Merry Meet To All Who Enter This Relm

A Night of Lessons

The stars gleam down on me from overhead in the coolness of this night. I stare in anticipation, waiting for something which I cannot place. A light breeze blows my short and blonde-streaked hair in all directions and lightly caresses my delicate face causing me, for just a moment, to squint and shiver at the frost-laden countryside in which I live.
Trees of great stature surround me and seem to watch over me. Like mothers to their young, they comfort and guard me from all impeding dangers. I feel safe and secure, warmed on this frigid night.
Suddenly, as if commanded, I drop to my knees and raise my hands to the sky. A chill of energy coarses through my very life's blood. My eyes are closed, but my ears are more alert than I have known them to be. I am struck by a feeling that I have never felt before, oneness with my surroundings.

The silence of the forest soon turns to a light buzzing, which gradually becomes voices. Voices of people who seem familiar, yet strange to me. "Who are you?" I ask. "Why is this happening to me? Have I done something wrong here? Am I trespassing in your forest?"
The voices grow in strength as if becoming closer. Slowly, I see two figures becoming more and more evident. Immerging from the trees, male and female, dressed like the forest in which we walk. They approach me slowly, but with confidence and interest.
"Child. Sweet, innocent child. Do not run. We mean you no harm," he said, his stern and muscular body softening like that of a father to his daughter.
"You are welcome to wander this place. Nothing will harm you or stop you," the woman added, she of great beauty and power, almost like that of a queen or a princess.
Then they took me gently by the hand and walked with me. Their great love and power inspired me. They told me of my destiny and my life to come.

"You are Sky, White Shamaness of the Great Northern Forests. Take care that you guard this place, for it holds magicks which cannot be explained. Every animal, plant, and object is sacred and holds its own power. You are the guardian of the forest. Learn from it and become one with it as you have tonight. We will always be with you. We are your Mother and Father, Lady and Lord, Goddess and God. The regulators of life, death, and rebirth. We are holy. Life is holy. You are holy. All is holy. Remember that! Let the stars be your guides. Brightest blessings young one!"
With the stars still gleaming brightly, I awakened. I was still in the forest, but now I realized what I had been waiting for. The lessons I had learned gave me a new perspective on life. "I am the White Shamaness of the Northern Forests. All of my lands are sacred, as am I. I shall guard the magicks and natural wonders of the wilderness in which I wander. As is the wish of the Great Ones, so mote it be!
